THE ISSUES

Norwood is a great city, but it can be better. Our police and fire departments need more support and upgraded equipment, our parks are in disrepair, and our streets are crumbling. In order to survive and make progress as a city, we need to protect current residents’ investments and attract families to raise their children here. I'm committed to helping build a brighter future for Norwood.

I will do this by pushing for economic prosperity, working to modernize our city, improving our city's streets and parks, and protecting our first responders.

ECONOMIC PROSPERITY

Norwood was under “fiscal watch” for twelve years and has been in “fiscal emergency” for the past two years. There has been some progress made to become financially stable, but not enough. We can do better—and we must. I pledge to work to bring Norwood out of fiscal emergency by leveraging previously untapped resources. Additionally, I will work with the Mayor's Office and local economic development organizations to actively recruit businesses to Norwood.

Operations in the city of Norwood need to be brought into the twenty-first century. Every Norwood citizen should be able to communicate with the city, pay bills, taxes, and fees on one centralized website. The city's website should be easily navigable on any computer or mobile device. The government of Norwood should be easily accessible by any and all of its citizens. City council, the mayor, and all other officials should not be operating in secrecy. We must communicate openly with our residents and businesses.

MODERNIZE NORWOOD

THE ISSUES

Norwood is a great city, but it can be better. Our police and fire departments need more support and upgraded equipment, our parks are in disrepair, and our streets are crumbling. In order to survive and create a prosperous city, we need to protect current residents’ investments and attract families to raise their children here. I'm committed to helping build a safe, clean, and thriving future for Norwood.

I will do this by pushing for economic prosperity, working to modernize our city, improving our city's streets and parks, and protecting our first responders.

IMPROVE STREETS AND PARKS

It is my goal to revitalize our city parks to make them safe, enjoyable places to bring our children. In addition, it is one of my highest priorities to secure funding to fix our streets. It is imperative to make our city function better and look better.

PROTECT FIRST RESPONDERS

Norwood’s public safety services are second to none—our firefighters and police officers are highly-trained, dedicated public servants who have served and protected this city for generations. In order to keep doing their jobs well, though, Norwood’s first responders need support and upgraded equipment. Keeping Norwood’s community safe is the top priority of our first responders—it should be the City’s top priority to return the favor to the women and men who work daily to keep us safe. As a Council member, I will work tirelessly to provide upgraded equipment and support to these men and women.

It’s also important to keep Norwood’s safety services local. Doing so ensures that our first responders can answer the call in a timely manner connecting Norwood residents to care when they need it most. I am dedicated to standing against any attempts to outsource our safety services.
